Which Astrological Signs Make Good Love Matches

What To Expect From Astrology Books (May 29, 2009 )

the Zodiac 2007

If you have an interest in horoscopes and want to attempt to read the stars yourself, there are numerous astrology books available on the market. There are so many books that detail specific disciplines, beliefs and reading methods, that it can be hard to select a book that’s just right for you. In this article, we’ll suggest a few that can help you to read the stars

When learning about astrology, it’s helpful to have one very detailed book to use as a reference. However, there are many good books on specific types of astrology practices, yet it’s difficult to find a high quality book that covers all aspects. A good tome for the novice astrologer should have interpretations that are written in simple language and provides a lot of information about relationships. It should also have information on advanced astrology for when you are ready to explore more complicated theories and practices. Here are three good overall books that offer an introduction to the astrology craze.

If you’re looking for astrology books with concise information and great images, “Parker’s Astrology” by Julia & Derek Parker is one good choice. It begins with the history of astrology, provides an overview of the solar system and introduces the foundational concepts. There’s a user-friendly planetary aspect finder in the back and if you’d like to find out more about yourself, the book has a section the teaches you how to cast your own birth chart.

“The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need” by Joanna Martinet Wool folk lives up to its title. This book has in-depth profiles of all the Sun signs, but explores other planets as well. While the book focuses on love and romance, it also covers history, myth and birth chart interpretation. Most importantly, it is written in very clear, easy to understand language. Another great book, “Astrology for Yourself”, is both an introduction to astrology and a workbook for understanding your own birth chart. This book starts at the beginning and expertly guides you toward a full understanding of your birth chart. The authors taught astrology and know how to introduce the topic step-by-step. For someone looking to explore their own interpretations, this book is ideal.

Cyberspace has become an effective alternative to traditional astrology books. The Internet has thousands of websites dedicated to astrology. Whether you’re looking for your daily horoscope or in depth information on the Chinese Zodiac or Indian astrology, you can find it online. It seems that more and more people are trying to get in touch with the spiritual side of their nature, and the web is responding to the demand.

Find Your Love Chinese Astrology (May 28, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Astrology Articles | Comments (0)

I don’t like telling people my boyfriend  is a pig, but he is, and he can’t deny it! I am of course the the fastest of all the Chinese astrol0gy signs and I have a rabbit foot to prove it!  My boyfriend and I,  we don’t always see eye to eye.  I guess that goes without saying for quite a few of us. When things get a little tense, I  always find it  interesting for us to pull out our astrology charts to see where we are heading. Perhaps  you are also looking, and searching to see which Chinese  Astrological Signs Make Good Love Matches?

You never know what kind of an animal you might end up with!

Chinese Astrology is a mix of the Yin and Yang and the Five Elements  of Fire, Metal, Water, Wood, and Earth. You can use it to find love matches with the twelve Chinese Zodiac signs. The signs are the Rat, Cow, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. These are used in Love Chinese Astrology.

Each animal in the Astrology chart represents a 12 year span and are the attributes that the Chinese believe are in every animal. The animals are believed to have been chosen by Buddha. Chinese Astrology offers its own kind of horoscopes. Many different kinds of love guides exist. From love compatibility all the way to soul mate reports, Chinese astrology has an answer to find any kind of love.

The Chinese Zodiac is used in Chinese Astrology to match up compatible signs. The Astrology uses your exact birth date and the exact date of the person you are trying to see if you are compatible with. The chart then matches up whatever kind of Zodiac sign you matched with and compares the two. It tells you if you are meant to be together, be just friends, or maybe just stay away from one another.

The animals rule in ranking order for twelve years then start over. The pattern began again in 2008 with Rat followed by Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. So, if you were born in February or after of 1996 then you are a Rat. Each animal is placed in an affinity group and an affinity pair. The affinity group is divided into four groups and they are listed as follows: Ox, Snake, and Rooster; Tiger, Horse, and Dog; Rat, Dragon, and Monkey; and Rabbit, Goat, and Pig. There are six affinity pairs: Rat and Ox, Tiger and Pig; Rabbit and Dog; Dragon and Rooster; Snake and Monkey; and Horse and Goat. Your most compatible match is found in the affinity groups and your second most compatible is your affinity pair.

Of course with every compatible match there is also an incompatible match. These are the clashing signs. These signs are divided into six pairs. These consist of the Rat and Horse; Ox and Goat; Tiger and Monkey; Rabbit and Rooster; Dragon and Dog; and Snake and Pig. So, when trying to avoid someone of little astrology compatibility you might want to consider this. The signs not listed in either group together are neither compatible or incompatible. The best way to see if this would be a match for you is to find out about their personality type and decide from that point.

When looking into the love Chinese Astrology this is fun to take into account. The signs are based on personality traits, but it is not always accurate. Even people with clashing signs have ended up being very compatible couples. This is a fun way to find out a side of the personality of the person you are interested in.

Does Astrology Teach That Our Fate is Written in the Stars? (May 21, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Astrological Signs Love Compatibility | Comments (1)

Does Astrology Teach That Our Fate is Written in the Stars? Part 2 by Kat Starwolf

 Predictions are Not Fate

As David Cochrane pointed out, astrology is a tool.  And just like any tool, it does not do the work; it merely facilitates us in its accomplishment.  The sculptor – not the chisel – determines the ultimate form of her masterpiece; the same applies to astrology.  You determine what you will do with your life, how you will mold it; not astrology and certainly not the astrologer.

Therefore, ‘predictions’ in this sense are referring to probability, not certainty.  I, as an astrologer, can show you in your birth chart as compared to a current transit, where some event has a greater probability of occurring.  If the event is a stressful one, however, you have the option of taking measures to ensure – as much as it is possible to do so — that the event does not occur.  If it is a positive event, then you have the option of arranging your life so that the likelihood of that event occurring is much greater.

Is astrology magic?  No, of course not.  While some astrologers might prefer that I not divulge this little tidbit of information, the fact is, there’s nothing mystical about astrology or how it works.  It is merely the utilization of math, physics, psychology and intuition which require calculations and interpretation of the data.  What the astrologer does, by way of astrology, is to take your birth information:  your birth date, birth time and birth location, and based on that data she or he calculates the positions of the planets at the point in time at which you were born, the planetary tables for which can be found in a book or a piece of software called an ephemeris.  From this information she or he extrapolates interpretations based on the various longitudes and latitudes on earth.

Once this information is put together, whether manually or through computer generated techniques, the information  — which consists of zodiac signs, planets and ‘houses’ in a pie-shaped wheel – can be handed over to you with no further interpretation.

But would you know how to read it?  Probably not.  And that’s where the astrologer comes in.  She’s studied and taken many courses in and may even has a degree in astrology so that she can better understand the significance of the astrological information.  She looks at the data in the wheel and interprets its meaning.  Yet, what she tells you is not meant to be ‘fated.’  This information is merely a guideline for you to go by, a blueprint.  She may tell you that based on the information she sees, you have the propensity to be a great athlete or musician.  But she certainly shouldn’t tell you that you’re fated to be such, because you are the one who will ultimately determine whether that possibility will come to pass.

Again, this information can only be interpreted by someone who has studied astrology for a good length of time and can interpret the interaction of aspects, signs, midpoints, houses, declinations, etc.

Events in Your Life Are Not Inevitable; You Do Have Free Will

Let’s return to the definition of the word ‘fate.’  Some of the words which were used to describe it are ‘inevitable,’ ‘predetermine[d],’ ‘designated,’ and ‘decree[d].’  But are these definitions really accurate?  Based on our recently learned understanding of what astrology actually is and what it does, we would have to say ‘no.’

If it were true that our fate were written in the stars, it would not be possible to improve ourselves in any way.  But as we know, this is not the case.  If we’re ill, medicines help us get well.  Psychology can help to alleviate mental and/or psychological pain.  Astrology can help us to see our strengths and weaknesses, and in combination with a transit or progressed reading an astrologer can help you to see what might possibly lay ahead in love, money, education, spirituality or just about any other area you choose and to improve characteristics of your personality.

The bottom line is: we all have free will; the stars do not determine your fate; YOU do.

Use Elements Of Astrology To Find A Love Match (May 20, 2009 )

Is It Possible To Use The Elements Of Astrology

To Find A Love Match?

My sister in law like to say that our destiny is written in the cards, but I believe that it’s written in the stars. For some finding love is easier than it is for others. Many people are unaware of the pull that the elements in astrology have on our lives. Once you understand some of the basic principles new doors of opportunity in both love, and life giving you opportunity to seize the moments you might have missed otherwise. Opening your mind may help you understand which astrological signs make good love matches, and which ones will leave your love unrequited.

The elements in astrology by icanteachu

Groups of signs in astrology share certain characteristics that are classified according to four earthly elements – fire, air, water and earth. It helps explain why some signs are more compatible than others.

The Fire signs are Aries
(March 21 to April 19), Leo (July 23 to August 22) and Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21). Fire people are leaders, dynamic. They light up everything around them. Because Fire needs Air to exist, Fire signs are most compatible with the Air signs. Water is anathema to Fire and a Water person could try to dampen the dynamism and enthusiasm that defines Fire.

The Air signs are Aquarius (January 20 to February 18), Gemini (May 21 to June 21) and Libra (September 23 – October 22). These are the idea signs, the air that breathes a spark into a flame. They can’t be tied down. They require freedom of movement and thought.

The water signs of Cancer (June 22 to July22), Scorpio (October 23 to November 21) and Pisces (February 19 to March 20) are characterized by the phrase still waters run deep. They’re emotional and sensitive, given to deep thoughts and conversations. Just as water can blur an image or hide secrets within its depths, so do Water signs have secretive emotions and abilities. The Water signs are most compatible with Earth signs.

The Earth signs are Taurus (April 20 – May 20), Virgo (August 23 to September 22) and Capricorn (December 22 to January 19). They are stable and consistent. While not as compassionate as the water signs, they are nonetheless nurturing. They can be rigid (stick in the mud) and easily stuck in routines. They are most compatible with Water signs, as Water is necessary for the Earth to properly nurture growing things. Earth helps Water contain itself, which is often necessary for survival on the planet.

After a 25 year career in the food manufacturing industry I started looking for something I could do on my own terms. I decided to partner with a long time friend to create a multi topic content site. A work in progress for sure…

Can We Change Our Destiny? (May 20, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Astrological Signs Love Compatibility | Comments (1)

 destiny

Can We Change Our Destiny, or Is Our Fate Sealed?

In this place, and this time the birth of astrology unknown, but its presence guides and motivates millions of people around the planet. The alignments of the celestial stars and planets is so important to many, that they will seek out daily, weekly, or monthly guidance in the form of charts, and even mathematical formulations.

The question arises from skeptics as to the reality of such needed guidance, if our fate is already sealed, or is it?

Does Astrology Teach That Our Fate is Written in the Stars?

Part 1 by Kat Starwolf

Do you believe in fate or destiny? Do you believe that some mysterious force governs your life and directs you to do everything you do? Do you believe that astrology teaches that we are fated or destined to experience specific events in our lives? If you do you’re not alone.  Many believe this to be true.

Yet what exactly is fate?

According to Princeton University’s Wordnet, fate is:

•  destiny: an event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future
•  Destiny: the ultimate agency that predetermines the course of events (often personified as a woman); "we are helpless in the face of Destiny"
•  destined: decreed or designated beforehand; "She was destined to become a great pianist"
[italics and bolding mine]

For years the scientific community – astronomers and psychologists in particular — have written numerous pieces on such topics as the belief that astrology teaches that our fate is our destiny and that there is no way to alter what is destined.

Additionally, laypersons (those who know little about astrology) and neophyte astrologers have not helped when they, themselves, continue to believe – and teach – that astrology is a system of fated occurrences.

No wonder scientists have retained this misguided belief of astrology and passed it on to the lay-public!

Confusing, isn’t it?

However, the fact is, there are many astrologers who have a far more accurate view of what astrology provides than that our fate is written in the stars.  One such astrologer is David Cochrane of Avalon College(1) who had this to say about astrology:  “…an astrologer can usually detect what energies are influencing a person and give suggestions on how to redirect the energies in a more constructive and fulfilling manner. While a popular image of astrology is that it is fortune telling, actually astrology is more often useful as a tool to help us live more effective and satisfying lives in the present rather than forecasting the future with absolute certainty.”

Does this sound like the definition of ‘fate’? Based on my own studies as well as those of other astrologers, I firmly believe that one of the reasons that astrological predictions are so often fulfilled has nothing to do with fate, but is “Because people rarely develop the consciousness necessary to extricate themselves from the ever-repeating circle of inevitability. To creatively respond to stressful aspects is a rare gift which requires great conscious dynamism, and very few people have the ability to objectively recognize themselves.” ~ Unknown Astrologer

Note, however, that although this astrologer refers to the ‘circle of inevitability,’ she is actually referring to the fact that because we choose not to do anything to change or alleviate our circumstances, we will, ‘inevitably,’ continue in the same old rut as before.

Astrology also teaches that we should be proactive, take the bull by the proverbial horns and not believe or expect that an event is ‘fated’ or directed by some outward source.  In order to make anything happen, even astrology teaches that we must put forth the effort necessary to manifest our dreams.  This is otherwise known as the theory of cause and effect.

However, there are no guarantees, no absolutes.  As I tell my clients, make an effort to first understand yourself and those characteristics and tendencies which make up your nature.  Keep in mind that the character traits for any given sign are tendencies rather than absolutes.  That is, there is a very strong probability that you exhibit or will exhibit a propensity for a specific trait, whether beneficial or not.  Or, put another way, you are just as capable of demonstrating the negative side of a trait as the positive; it is up to you.  Regardless, these character traits are not written in stone and can always be improved upon.

Yet, if astrology is not fate, what is it? Is it a science? An art? An aspect of medicine, psychology? Is it real? Is it bogus? Many scientists believe it to be a ‘pseudoscience’ with no validity whatsoever(2).  Other scientists, such as British astrophysicist and Principal Lecturer in Astronomy, Percy Seymour, author of Astrology, the Evidence of Science,  shows why he believes it to be a science.  Additionally, French psychologist, Michel Gauquelin, and Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung(3) (coiner of the terms ‘synchronicity’ and ‘collective unconscious’) believe it to be a valid science. In fact, Jung actually calculated horoscopes in order to augment the diagnoses of some of his most difficult-to-diagnose patients, because he claimed that astrology afforded him insights into his patients that he would not otherwise be able to understand. And then there are some astrologers who believe it to be an art, rather than a science.

Why all the fuss over its exact classification?  Well, that’s a topic for another article, but obviously, we each have our own interpretation and ideas about just what it is. One thing we do know for sure is that, along with astronomy, astrology has been around longer than any of the other sciences, and that whatever it is purported to be, it has been, at times, extremely controversial.

But what can it do for us?  How can it help us?  And what in the world are those astrologers referring to when they claim that events are fated?

The Sometimes Confusing Chinese Horoscopes (May 20, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Astrology Articles | Comments (0)

Astrological Signs Make Good Love Matches

Finding love is confusing enough, and many men and women just want to find an easier way to find a mate. Heck some of us will settle for someone

that comes close to a mate, what if your true love of your life is a primate a monkey in fact? Do you think you could fall in love with a rat? Which Astrological Signs Make Good Love Matches?

best astrology sign

You probably did not know it but 2008 is the Year of the Rat. The timeline of the Rat comes once every twelve years. There are eleven other animal zodiac signs that occur once a year as well in Chinese horoscopes. It is a far different cycle than the one Americans use. It all has to do with ancient mythology and about a king bringing together twelve animals and assigning them a specific year, which they would rule. Some feel it is the best astrology to be used, yet regardless of your personal feelings, it never hurts to learn more.

Chinese horoscopes differ from Western horoscopes in several ways. Take for example the zodiac sign Libra in the Western horoscope. It is for one month. But, as an example, the Rat is for one entire year. A Chinese zodiac sign is also given an element according to the year in which it falls. There are five elements in all.

Each Chinese zodiac sign occurs once in a rotation of twelve years. So that means, by the time an individual sign, say for example the Rat, is through its entire elemental cycle it has reached sixty years. Then the cycle starts over again in a never ending pattern of the Great Solar Cycle. It can be very confusing, so do not worry overly about it. Most people only want to know the best astrology sign for their work day or their romantic interest.

It is important to know the animals involved in the Chinese horoscope, as well as their order. It starts off with the Rat. The following animals, in order are: Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram (or Sheep), Monkey, Dog and the Pig. Each zodiac sign is given a spot in the constellations and is religiously followed by some individuals. It is a way of life that many practice religiously by looking up their horoscope daily.

If you are interested in finding out more about Chinese horoscopes, learning the history behind this fascinating subject or want to get a love compatibility report, then you can visit http://chinese.astrology.com/. It will give you a personality profile and you can find out if your mate is right for you. You can also find out when it will be time for your year.

The Gift And Power Of Astrology (May 18, 2009 )

Posted by: admin | Category: Astrological Signs Love Compatibility | Comments (0)

Which Astrological Signs Make Good Love Matches

Our energy is boundless, although it may see as such when you are sitting on the couch downing a pint of Ben & Jerry ice cream (cherry Garcia is my favorite}.

However, it is exactly in these moments that we need to take a few moments to reflect on astrology charts. Astrology can be a powerful guide to aid us when we have those Ben & Jerry Moments, and are just feeling out of sorts. Perhaps you have had a bad day at work, or your boyfriend picked a fight, and you are looking to your astrological star signs for guidance. It could be your feeling alone unable to connect with the right partner and are seeking an astrology love match.

The sad truth is many men and women are guideless, truly lost souls who have no real idea of how much their lives could improve and change if they took the time to understand astrology, and all the insightful gifts it offers to us all.

The Importance of Astrology In Your Life

by Terry Detty

Many people do not recognize the importance of astrology. Astrology is an important part of history, as well as our daily lives. Astrology can also predict future events to some degree. It influences our moods, the moods of others, and the reactions that we have to everyday occurrences.

The importance of astrology was well known to people of ancient history. Maps of the stars and evidences of the use of astrology in daily life have been found in pre-historic cave drawings, ancient manuscripts, and Egyptian pyramids. The most recent, and possibly the most astounding, discovery about astrology in history involves the birth of Christ according to the Christian bible.

It has been determined that the star of Bethlehem was actually an astrological event, consisting of many stars and astrological meanings. Scientists and astrologists now believe that it was not a star at all. The wise men from the east understood that the major event would happen in Judah based on the alignment of planets within the constellation of the Lion. In other words, the wise men used astrology to discern the event of the birth, not a star.

The importance of astrology is still well known to many cultures. The people of India and China put great stock in astrology even today. They practice the art of astrology in their daily lives, and base major decisions on the science.

In the Western world, astrology has become more of a form of entertainment. Horoscopes based on sun signs are published in every major newspaper and magazine across the United States. Horoscope scrolls and booklets can be purchased in most supermarket checkout lanes. And so-called astrologists charge $1.99 per minute to get your astrological reading over the phone.

But many people do not understand that astrology in its truest form is actually of the utmost importance. Astrology is quite simply the study of the planets and stars and their influence on our lives. These influences are quite real.

Have you ever noticed that around the time of the new moon you have difficulty making decisions? The phases of the moon actually affect our minds and emotions much more than many people realize. This is only a small part of the importance of astrology.

Perhaps you have noticed that your moods change drastically during stretches of time that seem to have no pattern at all. A study of the planetary movements or alignments during those times might reveal that a pattern actually does exist. The position of the planets in your astrological chart at any given time can be viewed in relation to their position in your birth chart. These comparisons can show reasons for changes in mood and daily reactions to events.

In short, the importance of astrology lies in the direct influence that the moon, sun, and stars play in our lives. Our lives are affected by many people and events. These people and events are influenced by astrology as much as you are.

When you understand how astrology affects others and yourself, you can begin to use the knowledge of those influences to your benefit. When your astrological chart shows that your emotions will be unsteady for a few days, you can put off major decisions until that time has passed. In reality, the importance of astrology is really the importance of your life.
